Being at the top of your game requires not only physical prowess, but also mental efficiency and control. Through targeted work on both the physical and mental levels, yoga can help you stay injury-free, gain that competitive edge, and perform in the zone.
Physical Performance
Erica works with athletes of all kinds to increase mobility in the joints and muscles most critical to their sports performance.
Through a targeted program, yoga can help you:
- Increase stride length
- Improve reaction time
- Decrease anterior tilt
- Gain freedom in the glutes, hamstrings, hip flexors and lower back
- Increase mobility in the shoulders, allowing for greater range of motion
- Improve balance and hand-eye coordination
- Achieve greater core strength, allowing for efficient movement from the body's center
- Increase lung capacity using targeted breathing techniques
Mental Performance
Studies have shown that an athlete's thoughts trigger specific processes in the brain and body. Learn how to control your mental state and use it to your advantage, giving you that extra edge on game day.
Through specific techniques, yoga can help you:
- Improve focus and concentration
- Develop heightened self-awareness and confidence
- Enhance visualization skills
- Increase task–relevant focus and attentional capacity
- Learn relaxation techniques to enable efficient movement and joint range of motion
Program Design
Programs can be designed on an individual or on a team level, and are customized based upon the particular stage of the training cycle.
Through Erica's unique blend of cross-functional training, she can efficiently work solo or in tandem with strength and conditioning professionals to design the appropriate program for an athlete's needs.
These can include:
- Dynamic stretches to build functional strength and control in sport-specific range of motion
- Yin yoga - longer holds of static stretches targeting the fascial planes and connective tissues of the body not normally affected by exercise
- Restorative yoga to achieve deep release, calming the body and nervous system
- Yoga therapeutics - movements that restore range of motion and help with injury rehabilitation
- Yoga to correct imbalances caused by postural inefficiency or sport-specific repetitive movement
- Pranassage - a unique fusion of yoga and bodywork designed to produce deep mental and physical relaxation in the receiver

Erica's yoga class has been a great addition to my weekly workout routine that has undoubtedly improved my flexibility and core strength.
As a marathon runner, weight lifter, and softball player with a previous shoulder injury I am constantly at risk for chronic overuse injuries. Erica's class has allowed me to improve my lower extremity flexibility, to stay injury free while training and even eliminate my shoulder pain I often experience after weight lifting and softball games.
As a physical therapist and strength coach I also have a professional appreciation for Erica's abilities as a teacher to guide first timers seamlessly through a class and modify positions when she notices someone that may find it too challenging.![]()
